This Crafting system lets players create hundreds of new items. First up is new equipment - all new hats, jewellery, robes, wands and other things. This new equipment includes items that span bonuses for multiple schools. They exist in all combinations and can enhance spells from your primary school or any other school's spells you have learned. One example is a myth item that boosts the damage bonus of myth spells, and increases the accuracy of any storm spells you may have. You can also craft furniture and treasure cards!
Crafting requires recipes. You can purchase your first recipes from Eudora Tangletree in Olde Town, Wizard City. Most quest recipes can be purchased from the character that gives you the quest. Other recipes can be found at shopkeepers throughout the Spiral, and as drops on bosses. Each recipe requires different ingredients - these ingredients are called reagents.
Each recipe will indicate the type of crafting station it requires to complete. Hover over this icon in the crafting window to see the type of crafting station you will need for this recipe.
Crafting requires a crafting station. You can get your first crafting station by completing quests for Eudora Tangletree. When you get your basic crafting station, go to your dorm or castle and place it in your home. If you have an available crafting slot, a recipe and all the reagents required, you can begin crafting.
Additional types of crafting stations can be purchased at vendors throughout the Spiral, and you will need different types of crafting stations for crafting different types of items. For example, you will need a housing station to craft housing decorations.
Players have crafting slots where items are placed that are in the process of being crafted. Players have a limited number of crafting slots. Each crafted item takes up 1 crafting slot. Crafting slots are awarded through quests. You can get your first crafting slot by doing quests for Eudora Tangletree in Olde Town.
Once an item is created, a cooldown timer will be started on that crafting slot. For each crafting slot you receive there will be a new timer on the character page of your spellbook (just right-click the tab with the clock). Every crafting slot has its own timer.
Once you have your recipe, you'll need the ingredients. Ingredients are called reagents. Some reagents can be harvested throughout all the worlds of the Spiral. Some are dropped by creatures when you defeat them.
Others can be purchased from Reagent Vendors. And you can buy and sell reagents at the Bazaar.
Remember: You can only have a max. of 999 units of any reagent.
Transmutation recipes, which are sold by the crafting quest giver characters in each world, convert common reagents into rare reagents. For example, one transmutation recipe takes ore and makes diamonds.
Reagents can be placed in your shared bank! These reagents are under the 'Cards' tab. They do not count towards your total items in the shared bank, but have their own limit of 999 per type.
As you complete Crafting quests, your skill level will increase. Each time your skill level increases, you will receive a new crafting badge! The first skill level is a Novice Crafter. Here are the crafting badges you can earn.
